BOOM. There it is. Merol's new album. Fifteen songs, almost fifty minutes of Merol. That's what you want. On the album 'Naar De Haaien & Weer Terug' she lets her imagination run wild, delivers some headstrong blows and touches you in a place you didn't know before. Fresh, fierce and fanatical as ever.
Merol flies in all directions on this whimsical album. There's pounding on raw electropop, rocking, house and finally Merol lands on the Rhodes ballad 'Niet Meer Met Mij'. A subdued song that describes the day after a relationship has ended. "Do what we did, but not with me anymore". In 'Sorry Lul' Merol criticizes people who don't dare to take responsibility for their mistakes and are very skilled in avoiding that one word... sorry. She stands up for celebrities who have lost all their privacy and yearn for anonymity on the dance floor with 'Salmari & Kreeft'. On 'Ziet Ze Dan Niet' she shows how well she can adapt and shape herself to what is expected of her as a woman in a world built by and for men.
