British rock troubadour Jake Bugg is back with his sixth album, A Modern Day Distraction. Produced by Metrophonic at Metrophonic Studios in London, it sees Jake return to his roots.

A Modern Day Distraction is a record that turns up the noise while shedding light on the injustices done to him and the family and friends he grew up with. Fiery and committed, it’s born out of frustration with societal inequality.

Now, 12 years and six albums after he emerged with his streetwise, easy-going, Mercury-nominated, chart-topping, self-titled debut, it’s easy to forget he was only 18 at the time. He’s put in the hours and achieved so much, but he’s only 30 and the front rows at his shows are getting younger still. In that spirit, Bugg still feels his best work is yet to come: “You’ve just got to put your songs out there and hope for the best.”
