Produced by James Ford, it is the successor to the platinum-certified Romance from 2024 – and the sound of a band resolutely turning away from the guitar language of their early albums toward something colder, stranger, and more synthetic.

On the album, Fontaines DC – Grian Chatten, Carlos O'Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan, and Tom Coll – move between satisfaction and fear, until the two merge. This reflects the overwhelming influence of artificial intelligence, the environmental crisis, and political violence, all of which run on the same algorithms as memes, jokes, and celebrity culture.
